At Roswell Community Church (RCC), we believe in building a community that reflects the heart of God—a renewed community where genuine love forms the foundation of everything we do. This Sunday, as we continued our series on renewal through Romans 12, we explored how God calls us to be builders—not just of structures or careers, but of meaningful lives and relationships.
The Call to Build
Each of us is a builder, whether we realize it or not. We construct lives, relationships, and communities through our choices, priorities, and interactions. The question we must ask ourselves is: What story are we building into? Are we building into the renewed story of Jesus, or are we shaping our lives around the values of the world?
Paul's exhortation in Romans 12 gives us a blueprint for building something eternal:
Paul’s words remind us that everything we do as a church must flow from genuine love. This love guards against the pitfalls of judgment, abuse, and division that can arise in any community. It also challenges us to renew our motivation—not to gain recognition or build our own kingdoms, but to reflect the sacrificial love of Jesus.
Renewal in Worship and Action
As Paul writes, the way of Jesus is more than attending church or checking religious boxes. It’s a lifestyle marked by:

Each of us is a builder, whether we realize it or not. We construct lives, relationships, and communities through our choices, priorities, and interactions. The question we must ask ourselves is: What story are we building into? Are we building into the renewed story of Jesus, or are we shaping our lives around the values of the world?
Paul's exhortation in Romans 12 gives us a blueprint for building something eternal:
- Let love be genuine. Love that is authentic and sacrificial reflects the character of Christ.
- Serve with zeal and fervency. Even when life is busy and exhausting, our passion for God’s kingdom should energize us.
- Pursue hospitality. True hospitality goes beyond inviting others into our homes; it means actively seeking out those who feel unseen or left out and welcoming them with open arms.

Renewal in Worship and Action
As Paul writes, the way of Jesus is more than attending church or checking religious boxes. It’s a lifestyle marked by:
- Rejoicing with those who rejoice and weeping with those who weep.
- Living in harmony and humility.
- Constant prayer and active pursuit of others' needs.
A Challenge for Us All
This week, we encourage you to reflect:
- What are you building with your life?
- How can you pursue hospitality and genuine love in your relationships?
- Where is God calling you to contribute to the needs of others?
